The Lighthouse can remember Aveiro city in Barra’s beach. Is a very good place to practise nautical sports.
I was born in a country and i lived in the country until eighteen years old. When i finished high school i needed to go to the city to study.
But now i want come back to the country because i have everything (basic needs, internet, good roads, tranquility,…).
In country i have much more space to practise outdoor activities.
In a village (with a hundred habitants) everybody know each other and all habitants can help mutually.
In country have much more traditions and the events that involve all village.
And finally, if i need something of the city (for exemple buy something, work in my job,…) i can go to the city in twenty minutes WITHOUT TRAFFIC and with good roads.
Hi Edgar!
That’s wonderful! It makes people who live in the city want to move to the country. 🙂
The image of the lighthouse, makes me feel serenity and relaxed. It’s very beautiful.
He would have been able to live in this place since he traveled to a more crowded place.
I love living in the country. Being in touch with nature makes me feel good. I find the city very hectic, I like this buzz, but only in a short time. I think people are looking for the same field because of this. Life is calmer.
Hi Lina!
Thanks for your comment! 🙂
I live in a village and I love it, fortunately I’m near to big cities like Braga and Guimarães. Living in the village is quiet and relaxing, but living in the country, away from everything would be more difficult for me.
I love the field and everything that nature offers, I also like the movement of cities, but life in the city is stressful and more polluting.
It’s better to live in a village where I have a bit of both worlds!

Hi Ana Catarina!
That’s awesome! It’s like being in between worlds really. 😉

Hello Netto!
Such an inspiring comment! I hope your dream of living in the calmness and tranquilty comes true. 🙂
Hello everyone!
Why not? It seems like a nice place to live, it has lots of space and possibly a great view.
I live in the country but sometimes I wish to live in the city because of the same reason that Edgar mentioned, everyone knows each other but everyone knows too much! They don’t keep their noses in their own lives. We can’t give a step and in the next minute one hundred people know.
The country is healthier and quieter, that’s true, I like that and that’s probably the reason why people are changing but I just wanted to have a little more privacy. Besides that the country or small cities are the best places to live.

Hi Cláudia!
First of all, I’m sad, because it’s your last participation here with us. However, on the other hand, I’m very happy that you finished your course with such a good score. 😀
I agree; small villages have that disadvantage of people wanting to know everything, however, they are so relaxing and peaceful!
Hello 🙂
I will miss the classes and the forum too! 🙁 But thank you!! 😀
About the people.. You probably don’t see the news, people are not relaxing and peaceful, they’re getting worse every day, confusions and killings! 😮 So… In my opinion, besides the traffic country is the same as the city! 🙂
This picture makes me feel relaxed and in peace because is a quiet place opposite of the city this is a place where you can chill and enjoy the simple things of life. I am a nature lover I love the sound of the birds singing on the morning I love the sound made by the river and the views that nature can offer, however too much tranquillity can be exhausting so I don t think I would like to live on a village, one more reason is because I love met new people and is hard to make new friends on the “end of the word”. I love do nature sports like Teleski, BTT.
Most people leave the country looking for better life quality, because cities offers more opportunities, is very rare the opposite but not impossible.
Some people choose the country looking for peace and tranquillity mostly of them people of the middle class looking for vacations or to work on outdoor activities.
Normally on these places don’t exist a supermarket or police station or even a pharmacy if you hanna get one of these things you need to travel and that’s a lot exhausting.
Its absolutely impossible to me lives for a long time on a place like that… without internet or music and far from family.
Hélder Costa
Hi Hélder!
Wow! Are you a poet? 😛
You are right, unless people find a calm place to live not far away from a big city. Well, I think that’s not impossible.
This picture reminds me of the city where I grew up. It is a quiet town with few inhabitants. I have fond memories of this city. I think people choose to live in the countryside to have a safer life, enjoy more family life or educate their children away from the chaos of big cities. Going to live in the countryside has a chance to raise animals, grow their own food, not to mention that it is cheaper to live in the countryside.
Living in the countryside is having a better quality of life.
Juliana Nascimento
Hi Juliana!
Well I’m glad I chose an inspiring picture! 😉
Yes! And there are a lot of people doing that. Of course that in the beginning some investment is required, but if there are compensations in the future, that might be a good business / personal life fusion. 🙂
Hello everyone
The picture can remember Barra’s beach.
I live in the village near the city, it takes about ten minutes to the city center. I really like to live in the village because I have plenty of space for my children to have fun in the garden or in the pool. I know all the neighbors and life is much quieter and healthier.
Hi Lino!
So, it means you live in a place where all of us would like to be, having access to both the country and the city. Lucky you! Enjoy! 🙂
I always lived in places near to sea.
The country life is very healthy, and peaceful, is the best place to rise our kids without violence and the city problems. The fresh air for the plants and grass, the birds songs, and the fact that all the people know each other.
Is the best place to live for me.
Hi Carla!
Thanks for your opinion! 🙂
Hello !
I live in the village it’s like tranquility.
I think it is a good choice for those who want and need peace of mind, já para quem não esta habituado chega a ser um pouco complicado por falta de grande movimentação .I like to be in touch with nature.
Hi Janaine!
Thanks for you comment! 🙂
Hi Janaine! Thanks you for your post!
Hello to all,
I’m living between Porto and Aveiro in a small village. I have the train a few meters from my house and the higway is at 3 km, so I’m near from the big cities and also from the small cities like Santa Maria da Feira. When I was studying in Guimarães I didn’t imagine myself live again in village, I loved to walk for everywhere, get out of my littel apartment and have the coffee or the backery dow the street. But now I’m so accustomed with this quite place, which I call of “dormitório” that I don’t miss the city and here I have a house and space for my Gaspar (my precious dog :)).
I believe that what we apreciate changes with our life experience, it means, change while we getting older 😀
Hi Carole!
Thanks for you post! 🙂
The picture show us a beatiful place.
I think people leaves villages because there aren’t jobs opportunties,
the bigest oportunities the jobs can found in the city with more atractive pack salarial. But in my opinion in the village we can found tranquility, peace, and the stresse is small. People have more quality of life. though some people prefere the stress and more moviment, city with shoping.
In my case I prefere live in calm place, place like a village, wich can bring peace.
I grow up in a very small village and I missing this times.

Hi Sandra!
Welcome and thanks for your comment! 🙂
Hello!
The image makes me feel happy and calm. As I live in a place that makes me feel that way, I also could live in the lighthouse.
Personally, I always prefer the country. I already had the opportunity to live in both places and I identify more with the country. We can live more happy and free. Without stresse and all pollution arond us.
Hi Sónia!
Thanks for you post! 🙂
The image makes me feel calm, thinking of being close to the sea, where we can observe beautiful sunrises and sunsets every day. Yes, I could live here.
In my opinion, people leave the city because of the stressful life they lead and seek a better quality of life in the country.
I like the country. I like tranquility, contact with nature and moments of silence. But, like everything else, it has its advantages and disadvantages. And what I like in cities is the ability we have to move easily, whether on foot or by public transport, and to be close to everything.
For me, the ideal would be to find a balance between the two ways of life.
Hi Diana!
Thanks for your post! 🙂
Hello,
My story has to do with my first job interview. I went to a hypermarket that opened in my city and what I wanted was a place in the box, but whoever interviewed me decided to stick to the section of the butcher … I was furious because I could not see myself packing and selling meat .. . Anyway, since I needed the money, I finally accepted it and I still worked there for two years. It was a good experience, I learned a lot and I ended up liking it, although I never think of working in such a place.

Hi Célia!
And what do you prefer: the country or the city? 😛
I don’t know how to explain it, but looking at this image gave me a sense of calmness. Maybe because I’m going through a very stressful phase of my life, with no time for anything and with many things to do, looking at this image has awakened a huge desire to go to this house and rest.
I believe that choosing to live in the country or in the city depends on what we feel throughout every moment of our lives. You can’t live in a city for all your life, that’s why sometimes we take a vacation getaway to quieter places.
In the country we can breathe clean air, there isn’t so much pollution, we can have a calmer life, thus leaving the exciting, but stressful day to day city hustle.
On the other hand, the city is where most people are concentrated, there is more interaction with others, more fun and more places for those who like shopping and interacting with a great variety of cultures, like me, for example.

Hi Edvilma!
Thanks for you post! 🙂

what is contry life in the camp?
basically the life in the camp as a whole a society whichcan take pleasure in seeing nature unspoiled and enjoy rural areas which are worth living in.
hello…
I did not read the frist move, but i remeber my brother’s frist time.
It was me who took him to see the cartoons of the blue parrot . Was very happy and also much admired by the size of the screen and the sharpness of the dolls ,it seemed all too real for him. He loves to go the movies , because of course he also has those sweet popcorns that know best outside the house.
(FÓRUM 10 – julho/2016)
1 – On the departure of the United Kingdom from the European Union I think that they should not be taking the best attitude. First of all, there is a division of opinions and there will be disagreements, because the people are convinced that this will be the best solution and that they will solve their problems. But if there are things that seem to improve, there are others that will become worse in time, because they will be more “doors that close than those that open”.
2- As for Portugal one day following the same example, our longed-for ‘shield’ will not allow us to have the power to fight the euro, and the people will still feel more difficult … now look back and say ” Who gave the shield … “the problem is not only to have the coin back, it is Portugal to be alone, even though it has some internal means to survive, these would not be enough …
3 – I think so: Portugal gives too much importance to football! Portugal is such a poor country, where there are so many people who have nowhere to sleep, have nothing to eat, so many children die of hunger and cold, and do billions spend to buy soccer players? Why do not the clubs invest in humanitarian action and donate money to starve the homeless who are increasingly … ???
